Music for the fashion show

"Mados infekcija" (Fashion infection) festival, launched last Friday, presented the late talented fashion designer Egidijus Sidaras' collection "City Pulse". Vaidotas created and adapted music for the show: "I felt responsible to link the clothes with the music, so that they beautifully complement each other. I believe it worked out."

Lithuanian mini tour HELLO / Lietuvos mini turas HELLO

Grupės „The Roop“ vaikinai skelbia koncertų datas – šiuos pasirodymus simboliškai pavadino mini turu „Hello“.

Visi surinkti pinigai keliaus pirmajai Baltijos šalyse įkurtai fermos gyvūnų prieglaudai, kurioje gyvūnai auga be išnaudojimo ir be skerdynių“, – pasakojo Vaidotas.

„The Roop“ koncertavo ne tik visuose didžiausiuose Lietuvos muzikos festivaliuose, bet ir buvo pakviesti koncertuoti didžiausiame Baltijos šalių festivalyje „Positivus“. Taip pat koncertavo Rygoje (Latvija), Bonoje (Vokietija), Varšuvoje ir Gdanske (Lenkija).

„The Roop“ muzikos stiliai skoningai maišosi tarpusavyje: poprokas, rokas, indie, dance rock.

Debiutinis albumas „To Whom It May Concern“ išleistas 2015 metų pabaigoje. Galutinius garso suvedimo darbus Australijoje atliko vienas žymiausių savo srities specialistų Leonas Zervosas, kurio dėka dienos šviesą išvydo tokių grupių kaip INXS, „Aerosmith“, „Maroon 5“ ir „Muse“ albumai.

Jelgava's show

We were sent a few photos from the International Ice Sculpture festival in Jelgava. It was -4 outside but our voices and fingers did not fail us. We felt warmth not only from the heaters on stage but also from all the people in the audience. Thank you!

Going back to Latvia!

It's always so good to return to Latvia. On 11th of February we're playing in Jelgava at the International Ice Sculpture Festival which this year is 19th. Lots of sculptures, entertainment and music - an event worth visiting. See you all there, and we'll have a great time!

Bye bye 2016

With 2016 coming to an end we understand that the year has been fruitful. Although we usually tend to say that it could have been better, but moderation is something we lack nowadays. We remember the year vividly because it turned THE ROOP from a debut band to a band discovering its group of listeners. We have been to Poland, Germany, Latvia, played in all major Lithuanian summer festivals and the biggest festival in the Baltic States – “Positivus” (Latvia). Two of our songs were in the soundtrack of this year’s Romas Zabarauskas’ movie “You Can’t Escape Lithuania”. Latest singles “74 Miles”, “Come Back” and the energetic “Hello” are being played all around the world: Lithuania, Latvia, Belgium, Germany, France, Australia, Columbia, Romania, Serbia, Basil, USA and more. Thank you all who supported us, found us and listened to us. Can’t wait to start 2017!

ONE YEAR!

WOW, it has been a year since we released our debut album. During this period we have grown a lot, met many brilliant people and introduced our music to the world. It has been a memorable year, great experience. And we move forward. Great news, friends! Our latest tune "Hello" is being played outside of Lithuania - on radios in France, Germany, Italy, UK and Mexico. Thank you all for your support!

Film premiere

Tomorrow is the Lithuanian premiere day of Romas Zabarauskas’ movie “You Can’t Escape Lithuania”. We are very excited!

We recall when we released “In My Arm” multiple people told us that the song would really fit in a movie. And here you go – “In My Arm” is in the soundtrack. Moreover, “74 Miles” has as well found its place. Thank you, Romas Zabarauskas, for great collaboration and we wish you continue making movies that go far beyond Lithuania!

“Hello” – brand new video about people who dared to change

PREMIERE! Introducing a video about people who dared to be happy. We wish you find your own path. May your dreams become your aspirations.

“Hello, hello in the background, it’s time to shine, don’t let your hands down”- in the new single by “The ROOP” the band’s leader Vaidotas encourages everyone to dare living the life you want and not be afraid to dream.

The musician noticed that rather often fear or stereotypes prevent you from reaching your ambitions. The goal of “Hello” is to deny the clichés and inspire reaching your dreams fearlessly. This song is the first from the upcoming second album planned to be released next spring.

The video stars 6 individuals who decided to introduce their life stories. Among the “heroes” –  a girl who loves another girl, a guy who founded a farm animal shelter and appeared along with probably the happiest chicken in Lithuania, yoga teacher who quit his job in advertising, lady who lost couple of dozens of kilograms, artist girl who creates painting out of unusual objects, and twins - brought up in a child care home who now are famous painters.

The band already appeared in the biggest festival in the Baltics - “Positivus”, and introduced their album to the audiences of Poland, Germany and other European states. “The ROOP’s” tunes are played on the radio not only in the Baltics, but also in France, Belgium, Germany, Australia, USA, Brazil and other countries of the world.

Be happy!

Would you dare spending 10 DAYS without phone, without computer, without TV, without radio, without music, without any reading nor writing, speaking, communicating in any way with other people, dancing, laughing deeply and loudly, without your own food nor hidden sweets, being away from the city buzz, isolated in a small area where men and women walk on different sides? Just be with yourself, be inside yourself, wake up at 4 AM each morning and meditate for 10 hours a day. The band’s lead singer Vaidotas just had this experience. He returned from Vipassana meditation camp. What happens to a person who stays silently with himself and the nature for 10 days? Beautiful things happen! You start clearing the inside of your head. We often clean houses, wash out bodies, but our thoughts and the whole consciousness and subconsciousness remains only passingly wiped (if wiped at all). Often we are unable to process all of the information we receive and we keep stuffing ourselves with new dose of information. Again and again over the years. The Vipassana meditation is not an escape from life, but rather on the contrary – life’s perception, cleanness of thoughts to see the things the way they are, without illusions or prejudice. This is a universal technique which is not classified as any belief or -ism. This is the understanding of reality. Vaidotas realized that he wants to share this with everyone and invites you to visit http://www.dhamma.org/ website to learn more and, if possible, register for the next 10 day courses. Vaidotas wishes all responsibility and happiness!

Believe in humanity

THE ROOP band’s leader Vaidotas: “I believe in humanity. I believe that most people who’d learn about the backstage of fur or meat industry would understand they want alternatives that do not harm animals, but allow enjoying them alive. I want to thank Otwarte Klatki and Tušti narvai organizations who joined forces into a common activity – Open Cages . Thank you for Otwarte Klatki t-shirt that symbolizes my personal support. I invite you all to get familiar with what these organizations do. It is very interesting and meaningful. Thank you.”
