The last day in US
Today we are leaving San Francisco. We made new friends here and understood how diverse people can be and how they manage to coexist. We saw both the city and the everchanging nature around it. And now the trip home starts. Time to get ready for the shows in Lithuania!
Concert in San Francisco
The concert in San Francisco went great! So many amazing people gathered together! New friendships were starting fast and they were all warm. The organizers went above themselves to make the event of best quality. And they succeeded! Thank you everyone!

We visited Google headquarters in San Francisco
We use Google everyday and we were always curious what is happening and who is sitting behind all of it. We saw it today! We visited Google headquarters in San Francisco! Lithuanian Jolanta, who is working there, walked us around, showed even the secret rooms, took us to the sunny terrace on the roof to view the city panorama, and even invited us to have lunch at Google staff canteen which is gigantic! This is really a dream workplace. And now it's even more fun using Google.
On TV
This Saturday from 10.30 AM new show Garsiau. Soundcheckas (Louder. Soundckeck) starts on LRT PLIUS. Simbolically "Roop" similarly means "to cry, roar or make a great noise". There are too few music shows so we really support this initiative. It's a great honor to be a part of the pilot episode! Don't miss out.

We are going to San Francisco!
We've heard "Be careful what you wish for, it might just come true". And we are carefully not wishing. Few months ago we discussed within our band that this is the first year when we haven't played abroad. Of course we had a lot of concerts in Lithuania, but will it be a year without a trip? So we just spoke about it, and an email comes in inviting us to San Francisco at the end of October! Wow! The ticket are already booked!
Vaidotas is in Fuertaventura
Currently Vaidotas is in Fuertaventura to spend a month living and writing music there. In a non touristy town of Gran Tarajal he set up a tiny studio where he spends half a day, during the rest of the time Vaidotas is exploring nearby mountains and surroundings. He says he gets a lot of creative inspiration, and sends everyone best wishes!
BEHIND THE CAMERA: Keista Draugystė
Exactly one year ago we publicly introduced "Keista Draugystė" and its video. Vaidotas and Deimantė filmed each other at home. Everything happened in two days, taking three hours each day. No extra lighting, just natural light. Both days we waited until 3 PM when the light shone at the desired angle and moved through the room until 6 PM. It turned out to be quite an intimate, cozy and multidimensional video. Let's look at it again.

We are truly happy that Karklė festival is back and invites everyone to the sea! Yesterday the concert was full of good emotions. There were three G-spots in one: Good weather, Good music, Good crowd!

"UFO" in the first place! We reached top position in the Alytus Radio station FM99 chart. Cannot wait until the end of August to come and play in Alytus. By the way, congratulations to the city with their new, original and really beatiful city logo, created by brothers Gataveckai!

Lithuanian National Anthem
IT'S OFFICIAL! This friday in Palanga with smiles on our faces and love in our hearts we will be singing the Lithuanian National Anthem along with the rest of the world. Come and join us. The event will be followed by our concert! Entry is free, venue: Kablys + Jūra, start 21 PM, but you can com earlier. For the sake of Lithuania!
BEHIND THE CAMERA: Dream On
Remembering this song, we will reveal several interesting facts about its video. We aimed for a simple and intimate video without much work and expenses. But what looks simple does not necessarily happen fast and easily.
We decided to shoot with an 8mm camera and we had to buy the film in Germany. Ok, so we got the film. Then we not only had to find suitable for the decade clothes but also classic environment. We found it. But the flat wasn't sunny enough - the windows faced the inside yard and that spring day was cloudy. Where can we get the Sun from?! We rented four powerful cinema lamps and put them outside windows to light the flat. Additional generator was required since the flat's power supply would not suffice. Done.
The filming starts. We have four films which summed up to roughly 15 minutes of material. It was very limiting, so before recording we had to rehearse what's going to happen several times.
Later we sent the films back to Germany to get it digitized. The wait was quite a thrill because you do not know what would come out of it. At the same time, we were searching the web for summer clips taken with 8mm camera. We contacted the makers and received permission from one German person (yeah, it's somehow all about Germany) to use his summer clips which we mixed into our video shot in a flat.
Altogether the result was an intimate video. Without special effect or filters. All natural the way it was shot. Take a fresh glance at this video.
BAND MEMBER: Vainius
Vaidotas: continuing the rubric I introduce another band member - VAINIUS. He mastered the bass guitar and is also the backing vocalist in the band. He can play any kind of guitar, keyboards and drums. His face usually looks concerned and while taking pictures he tends to stand aside and has to be called to come closer. Although he might seem disconnected and apathetic, Vainius is actually a sensitive person who would always help in trouble. Talking of music he has perfect pitch and is able to play or sing any song. Vainius is good at writing melodies, e.g. the chorus of "Hello" is his. When he's relaxed he demonstrates his hidden talent of impersonating other people or charachters. And this makes us ROFL!

BAND MEMBER: Mantas
Vaidotas: continuing the introduction of the band members. The second - MANTAS. The Guitarist. He can play electric, acoustic and bass guitar, he can sing, but, as he himself claims, he doesn't want to. While writing guitar parts he uses laziness in a good way - out of this laziness simple but unique melodies that fit the songs perfectly are born. While on tour Mantas usually sleeps or plays games on his phone. However he changes drastically onstage - he becomes active, mobile and full of energy. His sense of humour is the widest in the band ranging from straightforward to subtle. A joke is always ready. By the way, he owns intense and contagious laughter. It's unforgetable once you hear it.

Vilnius Culture Night show
2015 June 15th marks the date of the first ever THE ROOP concert. It took place in Summer Terrace in Vilnius. 3 years later we are on the same stage, but with more songs, more courage, more energy, more love and in front of a huge crowd. Thanks to Mantas Repečka Photography for the pictures.

You know, it's quite pleasant when THE ROOP videos are being recognized after some time. Overall, we have heard a lot that our music and videos is more of a "slow food" rather than "fast food", where you taste it slowly and discover different tastes. It needs time. Ok, fine with us!
BAND MEMBER: Robertas
Vaidotas: as the main face of the band I decided to introduce other members of the band who are also very interesting. I felt the wish to briefly tell about each of them. Hence, starting a new rubric "Band Member". First of them - ROBERTAS - the drummer. He can also sing, play keyboards and guitars. Although he is honestly the busiest person in the band, he always finds time for music stuff. Very reliable. Moreover, he's the one who is able to enhance melodies: when there's already a rough sketch of a melody, Robertas like a sculptor shapes or polishes it. When there's tension in the band, Robertas manages to put everything into places and lower the tension. He looks like a true and mature man, but sometimes on tour he turns into a teenager who giggles at any joke. And that is amazing!
