How much we Lithuanians have accomplished! Although only 33 years have passed since the restoration of freedom and independence! This is a small gap!
We remember when, in our early childhood, we only dreamed of full of goods shops, of not being afraid to celebrate not very tolerated holidays (such as Christmas), and traveling freely around the world seemed like a fantastic dream!
We also remember the first exchangeable currency of Lithuania, Talons (otherwise known as Vagnorkės) and then the Litas of the first edition, the paper of which was barely better than a newspaper.
We also remember the high inflation, when parents realized that the monthly salary turned into only 4 dollars.
But we all survived, learned, hardened and now we are blooming like cactus resistant to everything. Happy March 11 - Lithuanian Independence Restoration Day!
